We, the faculty and administration of Silliman Institute, believe that the school represents the center of educational, social, and cultural life in the community. We believe that the philosophy of a school clarifies the purpose of , and gives meaning to the educational process.

We recognize and acknowledge the fact that each child is an individual with varying abilities. We are aware that our students come from diverse backgrounds. We propose, therefore, to develop each student's capabilities to the fullest extent possible.

We also recognize and acknowledge the magnitude of a student's needs in this modern age of the 21st century. We propose therefore, to emphasize spiritual and moral values in academics, art, and sports.

We recognize that social values must not be overlooked. Therefore, we propose to stress the qualities of courtesy, kindness, charity, and integrity in the classroom an in everyday life for students, faculty, staff, and administration.

As individual educators, and as a collective faculty, we strive constantly to encourage our students to cultivate high moral standards with a strong sense of values. We respect and appreciate the dignity and worth of each student in our student body.

As leaders and role models, we accept the challenge to provide opportunities and materials through which each student can fully reach his or her potential.

We recognize and acknowledge the fact that basic concepts are developed on every level. Teachers will therefore endeavor to incorporate as many methods and activities as are necessary to meet the needs of each group. A variety of enrichment activities are available: music, drama, elementary art, yearbook, journalism, and sports.

Silliman Institute strives constantly to integrate current technologies into the curriculum in order to support a diversity of education methods and to maximize learning in the classroom. As the role of technology becomes increasingly more essential, students must be given the opportunity to explore every facet of education that will empower them to meet the challenges of the future.
